11th London Korean Film Festival Will Open With THE TRUTH BENEATH which will also be the film’s European Premiere, directed by Lee Kyoung-mi. The film festival will have a special focus on women directors from South Korea starting with Park Nam-ok‘s first and final film The Widow (1955) to LEE Hyun-ju’s drama Our Love Story (2015).

Starring Son Ye-jin as Yeon Hong and Kim Jun-hyuk as Jong Chan, this intense thriller tells the story of a couple who are about to embark on a political campaign with Jong Chan about to run for the elections as a national assembly member. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when their daughter Min-jin goes missing which forces Yeon Hong to go in search of her.

The annual film festival showcasing the best of the South Korean cinema will open on the 3rd of November up until 17th of November, 2016 across London in cinemas which include Picturehouse Central, Regent Street Cinema and Ritzy Picturehouse. The film festival will continue on in other cities including Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast up until 27 November, 2016. The full programme will be announced on 22 September, 2016.
