'EVERYTHING WILL BE OK', An Oscar Shortlist Studies The Strongest Of All Relationships.

JULIA POINTER – Lea

Director Patrick Vollrath has succeded in being short listed for the Academy Award this year. In his short film ‘Everything Will Be Ok’, he studies the strongest of all relationships and very clearly shows the love of a father to her daughter.

This Academy Award shortlisted film’s main attraction is Julia Pointer, an 8 year old girl from Vienna, Austira. This is her debut film as an actress and she has succeeded in giving a very marvelously convicing performance of the character named ‘Lea’. Julia Pointer’s near to perfection performance succeeded her in winning the Best Actress Award in the Mancherster International Film Festival, beating actresses twice her age. Starring alonside her is another Austrian actor Simon Schwarz who plays the role of ‘Michael Baumgartner’, the father of Lea. Together they bring life to this short film and give it a very unique look.

For Lea it is another usual outting with her now divorced father, but as time goes by she finds out that he has different plans. Thus an emotional journey takes place between father and daughter.

Shown in the 54th Semaine De La Critique Cannes 2015, a section of the 68th Festival de Cannes, it won the Rail d’Or award. With time it has won numerous other well known awards and has now been shortlisted for a 2016 Academy Award.
