DUNKIRK Trailer Review Revisits The Miraculous Evacuation In WW2

DUNKIRK Revisits The Miraculous Evacuation In WW2 is a film directed by Christopher Nolan, whose previous films have been made on original scripts, remakes, novel/short story adaptations or comic book adaptations. This is the very first time that he has made a movie on a historical event. To get the best picture quality, the film has been shot on 15/70mm IMAX film and Super Panavision 65mm film and to show the realism in the film, Christopher decided to use real naval destroyers rather than CGI to show battle sequences. The cast includes one Oscar winner Mark Rylance and two Oscar nominees Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh. This is Harry Style‘s acting debut who was cast via general casting done for the move. Locations include Urk, Flevoland, Netherlands where the shoot took place on the Ijsselmeer showing the rescue operation; Plage de Malo Les Bain, Dinkerque, France, where the actual historical rescue operation took place; Swanage, Dorset, England, where the Daedelus Airfield was used to shoot the flying sequences; and Point Vicente Interpretive Center and Lighthouse, Rancho Palos Verdes, California, USA where all the explosion and gunfire sequences were shot. DUNKIRK Trailer Review Revisits The Miraculous Evacuation In WW2

The trailer doesn’t give away much of the story line, but it is based on a miraculous evacuation of British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk, a French sea port, so we should expect the usual war story line which nearly every movie based on WW2 has. The actual operation itself was named as ‘Operation Dynamo‘. The trailer has a montage of different clips indicating the isolation of the British soldiers on the Dunkirk beach. Each clip shows the soldiers waiting to be rescued. Some are trying to survive, while the rest are dying because of the cold, or those who are giving in to their injuries. The whole time, you can hear the clock ticking, slow at first and then gradually speeding up until a whole group of soldiers are seen on a beach landing craft, who look up to the sky as naval bomber air crafts fly above them and they all duck for cover.

The film will be having its release on 21st July, 2017
