FAYE SEWELL A CONVERSATION WITH THE BRITISH ACTRESS

Your introduction / how did you start acting and why?

I always enjoyed school plays and musicals when I was little, but I only decided I wanted to be an actor as a career when I was in secondary school.
I had always loved watching epic fantasy films and one day I just thought ‘I want that kind of adventure.’

Your first appearance?

My first professional lead film role was in the slasher feature ‘Sparrow’ released in 2011, that I was cast in shortly after I returned from training in L.A.

Which celebrity do you look up to as a role model and why?

It’s really hard to pick just one! There are so many inspirational artists, but if I have to pick my biggest inspiration as an actor it would definitely be Johnny Depp. I have always admired his immense talent as a performer and transformative ability.

What is your favorite film and why?

This is a really difficult one, I have so many favourite films in so many genres, but if I have to pick just one I’ll go for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of The Black Pearl’. It’s just so enjoyable and never fails to put a smile on my face.

Your other hidden talents or What else do you do or can do other than acting?

I also model part time (I suppose that’s not very hidden though). I like to write – I’ve written a novel and I really enjoyed that process. I’m pretty keen on certain eras of history and I have medieval weapons training experience, which I got to use in my role on horror-comedy feature; ‘Rockband Vs Vampires’.

(However, Directors take note- I am still waiting for that sword-wielding historical epic role – hint hint!)

Which films/dramas have you worked in so far?

I’ve been lucky to work on quite a variety of projects and roles, rather than bore you by listing them all here – there is more information on my website or my IMDB if anyone is interested.

Which projects are in the pipe line?

Cat Skin

‘Cat Skin’

At the moment I’m working on several different projects – ‘Cat Skin‘ a beautifully written indie love story being shot in Brighton and directed by Daniel Grasskamp – more information on that can be found on the official facebook for the film.
I’m delighted to be playing the role of April, one of the leads.
It’s been an amazing journey so far and I think the finished piece will be a film I am very proud to have on my CV.

A UK/US horror feature coming out Spring 2015, that I’m not allowed to talk about much yet until official details have been released -However I can say it was a lot of fun to work on and will be a very scary and exciting journey for audiences.

It’s titled ‘Green Man’ and is a psychological horror dealing with some terrifying true occurrences that took place in Clapham Woods in Sussex.
The UK portion was shot over the last few months around London and the South East.

I also finished shooting my role in ‘Rockband vs vampires’ this year, which will be released in Summer 2015.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the final cut, it was so much fun to shoot. A lovely cast & crew, a hilarious script and some very fond memories.
I loved the character I played too- Anna Winterford, a lethal vampire-slaying Vampire…

(I have a few other things currently in development but it’s a bit too early to talk about them!)
