The Italian crime film SUBURRA, which was first released in 2015, now has its own Netflix Original series releasing on 6th October 2017. The film was an adaptation from a book by the same name written by Carlo Bonini and Giancarlo De Cataldo in 2013. It’s film was directed by Stefano Sollima which starred Pierfrancesco Favino, Elio Germano and Claudio Amendola. The excellence in the direction of this film, and the story line which it followed almost made it as an expanded universe of Francis Ford Copolla’s Godfather. The series will go a step further than the film and will focus on how the Church, the state, organised crime, local gangs and real estate developers collide and blur the lines between the legal and the illicit in their quest for power. At the heart of the story three young men with different backgrounds, ambitions and passions will have to forge alliances to achieve their deepest desire. Based on the novel of the same name but set several years before, Suburra: The Series, is full of action, drama and crime that sees 20 days of turmoil in 10 powerful episodes.
