‘Ophelia’ An Intriguing Drama Selected By Oscar Qualifying LA Shorts Fest. OPHELIA, the official selection at the 2016 Revelation Perth International Film Festival, has been selected as Best of Fest at this year’s LA Shorts Fest and will screen as part of the official selection at the prestigious Oscar qualifying festival starting September 1.

‘OPHELIA’, DELVES INTO THE MIND OF A FEMALE INTERVIEWEE

Directed by Anthony Garland (G.B.F., Chasing Life) and featuring a talented cast from both television and film, OPHELIA tells the story of a young woman arriving at a bizarre job interview and, pressured by an onslaught of questions from an oddball trio, takes a minute to confront her insecurities head on.

Starring as Ophelia, actress and producer Ali Mueller has racked up credits on popular series such as HBO’s Entourage, All My Children, STARZ movie Category 5, alongside Burt Reynolds and Chelsea Kane, and The Castle written by Emmy-nominated Sally Robinson (Medicine Man, Iron Jawed Angels). The accomplished cast also includes Mary Pat Gleason (Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City, Friends), Larry Cedar (Constantine, HBO’s Deadwood, Feds, Grey’s Anatomy) and Alan Blumenfeld (Heroes, Arrested Development, Shameless, Mad Men).

OPHELIA boasts an Academy Award winning cinematographer in Daniel Katz (Curfew, Before I Disappear, Lightningface), and is written and directed by Anthony Garland, whose previous short film ‘They Grow Up’ starred Christa B Allen (ABC’s Revenge) and was also shown at the 2014 LA Shorts Fest. OPHELIA was produced by Ali Mueller and Drew Van Wyk, with Marten Eckerstrom and Grimm Films Executive Producing.
