EGX Rezzed 2017 BATTALION 1944 WW2 Shooter Is A Must Have For Gamers Who Love Playing War Games

At the latest event of EGX Rezzed 2017, which took place at the Tobacco Dock in London, Square Enix Collective™ gave the opportunity to gamers to play the worldwide first gameplay. There was a long queue seen outside the Battalion 1944 section which proved the hype surrounding the upcoming Role Playing Game. The subject of World War used to base the game on is as always a very tempting one, therefore even I could not stay back from checking out the game itself. The game was being played on a PC. As I am more used to playing games on a console, I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to it but I’m sure I would have got a hand of it after playing it a few times. The controls which of course included the keyboard and a mouse were very user friendly. The movement via the keyboard was quite smooth, and the changing of ammunition and the choice of weapons was very easy to do as it was all possible to do via the mouse scroll wheel. It is a fast paced game in which you have to make split second decisions.

After playing the demo of the game I had the opportunity to further talk about the game with Howard Philpott, the Lead Artist.

The London Tree: It has a lot of similarities with games like Medal of Honour and Call of Duty, therefore, were they an inspiration for this game?

Howard Philpott: Yes absolutely, those old school games were a huge inspiration. World War 2 as a theme is cool but the main thing that we were going for is the old school gameplay, therefore the things that were not perfect in those games have been developed and been placed again.

The London Tree: Does it follow a story line?

Howard Philpott: No, It does not have a story mode. It follows different levels.

The London Tree: Are there locations in the game in which players can play like Germany, France, Italy and so on?

Howard Philpott: Yes there are locations as you have mentioned, but the levels themselves are not based on real world locations. The gameplay that you have experienced here is in the location of Court Manor, but it is not actually that place and has been influenced by it.

The London Tree: Is Battalion 1944 on any console other than the PC?

Howard Philpott: Yes it will be released on consoles which include the Xbox One and the Play Station 4, but that will be later down the line. At first It will be released on PC and then on Steam in May.
