Best Romantic Movies To Watch This Holiday Season

Romance is a part of everyone’s life. Many movies become a part of our lives as we can relate to them or have fond memories attached with them. Here are some of my favourite picks, most romantic movies to watch with your Valentine on this Holiday Season holiday season.

The Illusionist

I think this is the most romantic movie I’ve ever watched or rather the most romantic movie ever made, at least for me. Starring Edward Norton and Jessica Biel, this movie is about two childhood sweethearts, separated at a young age. How they meet again and what’s in store for their love, watch and know.

Ten Things I Hate About You

Ten Things I Hate About You is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. This movie brings back a lot of memories from the 90’s. What an amazing movie, starring Julia Stiles and late Heath Ledger is a must watch high school romance.

P.S I Love You

If you love tragic romantic movies then this one is definitely for you. Starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler, P.S I Love You is a story of a married couple and how their lives unfold after a great tragedy.

Notting Hill

I love this movie not only because it has my absolute favourite Julia Roberts in it but because it’s made in London. Hugh Grant‘s character runs The Notting Hill Bookshop where he meets Julia Robert’s character and then all that happens is magic.

Walk the Line

Based on the life of singers Johnny Cash and June Carter, the story dwells into their celebrity lives and the romance between them. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, the film shows the struggle of a couple that rises high above their personal issues.

Cruel Intentions

Cruel Intentions part 1 starring Ryan Phillips and Reese Witherspoon, is a story about how a rich kid with a certain taste in girls, falls for a girl who he never thought he could fall in love with. The soundtrack of this film is specially an award winning one with tracks like ‘colourblind’ and ‘bitter sweet symphony’.

The Notebook

The Notebook is set in early 20th century America. Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, its a story of two lovers torn by class divide.

Great Expectations

I think Gwyneth Paltrow is a truly amazing actress but in this movie she’s totally nailed it. This movie is an adaptation of Charles Dickens novel ‘Great Expectations’, also starring Ethan Hawk as the main lead.

The Holiday

This movie is about a house swap between Kate Winslet in England and Cameron Diaz in America. Te story revolves around their love lives and how they meet Jude Law and Jack Black.
